Real stories. Real impact.
A longtime supporter and mentor at the Boys and Girls Club of the Los Angeles Harbor Clubs, George Mayer has dedicated himself to uplifting at-risk youth in the South Bay, inspired by the selfless acts that saved his life during the Holocaust. Born in Lwow, Poland, which was occupied first by Russia and then by Nazi Germany, he was hidden as a child by courageous Catholic families who risked everything to protect him. Separated from his parents, he lived under an assumed identity for five years. Now settled in the South Bay, George is more than a mentor; he is living proof of hope, perseverance, and the power of compassion.
